there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing the project on your own and your car runs like new after changing the head gasket ,flushing out your coolant system, and pretty much change all the obvious things that need changing. However all it really takes up is time especially if it is your first time doing it the breaking down will give a lil trouble after that just follow torquing specs and reassembling is a snap.
