I think I've got the same 2nd gear grind issue you reported. Mine seems to be when I push in the clutch and shift from 1st to 2nd. It sounds like whatever wheel is spinning when pushing in the clutch is grinding up against something. I'm hoping a fluid change will help. Can you provide any pointers or a link to the steps you followed for changing the tranny fluid?

lol quite possible. There's a another e46 with acs type III's on that street but it's not jet black.
