As far as the AVIN unit goes, I am very pleased with it. At first mine was a little glitchy, but this was solved by creating a memory SWAP partition in the micro SD card. This gave the system an extra 512 MB of RAM. With these android units, you cannot expect them to work flawlessly out of the box like the BMW factory units. Time must be invested in changing settings and customization to get it to work how you want it too. I was frustrated with my unit initially but I love it now. Also try to make a habit of not running too many apps simultaneously or the head unit will lag and probably crash/reboot. Due to the design of the car, there will always be some glare since it's positioned in angle that allows light from the sunroof to reflect off of it. I usually keep the sunshade closed so this doesn't bother me. The contrast and brightness exceeds the OE head unit so there will be a slight improvement.
Wonder if you might be able to help me. I've just bought an x5 and after some research bought an Andrive head unit to go in it but have been a bit disappointed in it really. It's quite slow and glitchy often not responding to my finger presses but the main problem I have with it is with the viewing angle you get in the x5 the screen is very washed out and hard to see. Videos are unwatchable and menus I often have to lean forward to make it out. So I am wondering what your experience has been with your Anvin? Is the viewing angle a problem at all and are you happy with it?
