    Hi.

I have a 2000 model BMW 318i, it came with no malfunction steering wheel. Instead a square shaped Airbag, so today i went to the scrap yard and bought a round airbag wheel with the buttons. My problem is when i tried it out it did not work i cant control my radio. What is wrong or what must i do. I am aware about the cruse control needing extra wiring but i don't want that i only want to use my radio from the steering wheel.
    Can anyone please help me????

    Regards Johan.

    hey cyberkaa,
i am halfway through my s54 swap and was wondering if i could ask some questions regarding your swap. ive read through various forums both that youll need a custom drive shaft, and others saying that i need an m3 driveshaft? can you englihten me and what you did for that? also since the m3 transmission is a bit shorter, did you use an m3 transmissio bracket or did you drill holes with the current transmission bracket? please reply, my mechanic and i are a bit stumped at this point....
    thanks in advance,
    karupu :)

Hi, just know on you post that you got a BMW E46 M3 Conversion Sedan. I m currently working on the same project in Australia.
Just want to know how can you resolve the washer bottle problem.
I did not make any changes on the body shape so the original sedan bottle cannot fit as the M3 expansion tank took its place.
The original M3 bottle also wont be fit behind the bumper bar as it is too large.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hey i ran into a problem with my wiring again (every time i think im done)

My problem now is that the 8 pin connector (x6011) inside the DME box that replaced the 2 pin (one green goes to fuse box one black goes to EWS) my car came with. is supposed to have wires in pin 7 and pin 8. when i checked the diagrams it says one of these goes to the clutch switch and one goes to the switch block where the heated seat swtich's are ext.

I Wired my clutch switch the same way you did (i think) So now my question is, Do you have wires in pin 7 and pin 8 of x6011? or did we just spice into the wires down by the clutch switch to eliminate having to run the wires to x6011?

Your Message box is full so I had to post here,

First off, I have to say awesome detailed DIY thread with pictures on a s54 swap, such a thread is invaluable to the e46 community. I recently had a revelation of performing the s54 swap to my 330i and subsequently did a search for previously performed swaps on here and your thread was referred. I've spent over 80k on 6 BMW's as far as purchasing, modifying, and maintenance is concerned in the past 7 years of my adult life, but yet to this day I own none. Too cut a long story short, I've come to the realization that at the age of 26, I need to appreciate my love for the e46 chassis as it is and modify it appropriately as my financial status dictates. Your build is an example what can be done with investing time, money and effort.

So I wrote all that to ask this, would you be willing to give me a ride-a-along in your car to ensure my decision on going forward with my s54 swap?

    Thanks for your time man,

    John.
