My 330ci soft top goes up a couple of inches when opening and thats it. the rear storage compartment does not lift. when opened manually and you wish to close nothing happens. this turned out to be due to a bad hydraulics pump relay. i think its number 5 in the manual diagram. replace this and anyone with same problem might be helped...free to ask questions if any

i jumped into my 2003 330i one morning and it would not start, not even crank. after hours of trying it eventually did. it did this on a regular occasion and ended up going to the dealer as i was told my key might be bad.

the dealer made me buy a new EWS and a key, these were installed and programmed and guess what? NOTHING!!!!! the new key wouldn't even start the car. after a couple of struggles, the old key starts the car and if you put in the new key, it starts the car as well but only then.

The dealer now says i need an ignition switch and i found out that that is not it. what these guys do is get you to buy anything they guess until they eventually get to a fuse or something. i ain't ready to go through that cos i never liked them before and will not in the future.

this turned out to be a bad key. had a new one ordered and matched to the ews and i was good to go

    hi there
while driving from work yesterday, i changed to 3rd gear and pressed down the accelerator pedal and my E46 2003 model 330i suddenly shut off. i was doing about 60 km/h. i started it again and drove a short while before it completely shut off to a point were it would crank but not fire up. i checked the battery cables and found out that the positive one was extremely warm while the negative was ice cold... i have 1/4 left in the tank and i feel this has something to do with fuel. i then towed the car home and left it for about 4 hours, tried starting again and it started first time. i have not driven it yet but am very puzzled...please help before i start my journey of being ripped off...i just paid $1000 for key issues days ago. I LOVE MY MACHINE SO, aint giving up yet

this right here was a bad fuel pump...installed a new one DIY and it has not happened ever since
