Thanks to all the members for your info . Saturday I discovered I have a TCU built in the trunk.I'm the third owner and there was no BT card in the owner's manual pouch,so it was quite a nice surprise. (around $1100 to buy from BMW). Great New Year's gift!!!
Thanks to profM3 and others, I R&Rred the TCU and read the passkey (pardon me,the PK), sat in the car, pressed the R/T button, and in about 7 minutes, it had paired and downloaded my phone directory. Seems to be working like a charm. I don't have an SES module, so no idea if I have voice command, but I will chime in about it once I've done the research.
    Happy New Year to eveybody
