Steering creek

When I turn the wheel both ways it creaks. I have. 2002 BMW 325i. If I put the car on jack stands with the wheels off the ground. And turn the wheel there is no creeking. The powersteering fluid res is low. No fluid on stick but there is some at the bottom.

Any ideas?

First idea is to fill the proper amount of atf into the reservoir so you don't kill your ps pump. If you don't do that, any creak you have will soon be joined by the moaning sound of a bad pump.

Sometimes when I find out my fluids are low I just decide to fix the problem by refilling the fluids. :loco:

Use ATF fluid not power steering fluid.

Re: Steering creek

Possibly depending on his definition of creaking... But in any case the low fluid level is definitely a problem.
