Car has been sitting for a year
I have a 2001 bmw 325ci, it sat for a year while I was deployed. Won't start, just gonna get a new battery. What do u guys suggest I do maintenance wise on the car before I try running it?

Just get a battery and see if it will run and get new gas in it asap.

Shopping list, new battery, fresh gas, oil change.

Yeah I figured that part was obvious but should I do a whole flush. Brake lines, radiator, change the tranny fluid and such?

Replace as many of the fluids as you can.

A year is not THAT long - battery, oil change, new gas should be fine. Then drive it gently for the first hour, make sure everything is working, brakes, etc.

A year is not THAT long - battery, oil change, new gas ought to be fine. At that point drive it delicately for the first hour, verify everything is working, brakes, and so forth.

hell, you could even just charge the battery instead of getting a new one. Depending on how old it is, it may not need replacing.

but definitely get fresh gas and an oil change. those two are cheap. your tires may have flat spots so you'll have to drive around for a while for those to go away. I'd also mark the tires so when you return from your first drive, you don't park them in the same spot.
