Question abt fender rolling

My rears are rubbing now...
My shop said that the rear fender can't be rolled like a regular car's because it has double metal layer which makes it so thick...
The only way would be to cut the metal but it's not recommended...
To those who has rolled their rear fenders, care to share your experience?
I have a coupe btw...

They should be able to roll your fenders.

Come on now... go to Car Nutz...

travis 04-18-2002 03:25 PM

hmm.. wasn't a problem for us.. maybe they're just affraid to mess something up? take it somewhere else or just get the tool and do it yourself.

Travis, what's the tool? Where do I get it? What does it look like?

I remember seeing a feature on fender rolling in a magazine but it was a long time ago and can't remember what tool they used or how they did it.

Here is the tool:

Where can u get the tool?

How does that thing work? Looks like it pushes out the uper part of the fender where it flairs out. Do you still have to cut the fenders? What's it called?

-Ryan- 04-18-2002 04:32 PM

o.k. cool where do I get one. ****, i'll buy one right now and charge you guys to borrow it LOL. Actually every car I've ever owned has been lowered and being that my dad is 67 (Is modding a hereditary gene) and has a lowered car, I'll probably be lowering them the rest of my life so it's probably a worth while investment.

What size tires you have in the rear I had the same problem I have 255/35 on a 18" 9.5 rim. I went to one place and they rolled it with a bat and it still rubbed I could not find one shop in NYC that would do it, so I got frustrated and just jacked up my car and hammered the lip then I went to BMW and got some paint and sprayed it on so that it wont rust. What a pain in the ass it was

So How does that thing Work???

Where to get it done.

I run 265/30/19 on 19x9...it only rubs on hard cornering...hopefully I can fix the problem tomorrow...I'll just play with some camber and toe....

Come on now vincent. i got my fenders rolled. nothing is wrong i dont run anymore unless i have 3 people in the bakc and i go over a big bump. Car Nutz dogg

presario 04-19-2002 04:20 AM

Roll them compeletly, meaning the metal is flat against the outer sheet. It shouldn't be a problem at all. Great wheels btw!!! Love them.
