Help me make a decision. 17"or 18" ????

Please give your opinion on the following:

Right now I have 16" oem rims styling 136.

Want to upgrade, but difficult to make decision.

Sell 16" oem rims and buy 17" oem rims styling 96 as all season (summer tires and winter tires changing)

Or keep 16" for winter and buy 18" oem rims styling 135 M

Least one is tempting but also more expensive. Help. What to do??

Opinion

At the moment I have 16inch OEM wheels as well.

I want to buy 18 or 19inch wheels for the summer and put on my OEM 16inch in the winter (for snow-vacation where chains are needed).

In other words; I would go for the expensive solution on short terms (this is cheaper on long terms). You don't drive on your expensive 18inch tires all winter;-)

Good luck with yuor decision!

Definitely go for two sets of wheels for winter and summer.

If you're gonna upgrade your wheels, you should at least go to 18's or even 19's and keep your 16's for the winter

I'd keep the stock tires for the winter and get the 18's for the FUN! Thats what I did.

i picked 17" because 18" doesn't improve perf according to R&T's comparison test. plus i would hate to bend the rims and have a much rougher ride and pay lots even for crappy tires.

So made the decision.

Just picked up a new set 18inch oem original BMW styling 135 M

Pictures will follow later on.

So far not one sport wagon seen with these rims. And there a lot of 3-series sport wagons in Germany.

Picked up the set in Germany and look at the picture I made.

Who says BMW diesels are slow? :hi:

By the way. This was as fast I could go with one hand steering and the other hand taking the picture. Not even top speed reached.

:yikes: that's just crazy dude. Nice pic.

Go with the 18's, if you don't mind the rougher ride. It'll handle and look MUCH MUCH better...
