LED Corner Kit...

I was just about to place an order for a white light LED corner kit from JLevi. I decided I would do a search first to get some reviews and I found that people are saying that the LED corner lights do not illuminate like the halogen bulbs do. The majority of people are saying that the bulbs are very dim.

Please, someone straighten me out as to what would be the best corner signal solution for me to match my xenon headlights and chromium halos.

Thanx.

Ron

The LED Corner kit is the best way to match the xenon headlights & chromiums. The "dim" that people are talking about is in day time where the LED Corner kit is hard to see because it's inside the clear corner light housing. I for one who have the kit never have anyone honking at me or of that nature when I'm making turns using my turn signal. They can clearly see that the LED bulb is flashing.

One thing that I just noticed however looking at your sig .. the clear corner housings are different for Facelift and Pre-facelift. That may be the factor since the Pre-facelift isn't as clear as the Facelift.

Well honestly, I am not concerned at all about people honking me because my lights are dim. I know how to handle those people ;) What I am concerned about is spending $40 for dim lights when I purchased the lights with the idea that they would match my xenons no matter what time of day it is. In other words, I want a corner light solution that will look good ALL the time; not just during the night. And frankly, if they are dim in the day time then comparatively, they will not be as bright in the night time as their halogen counterpart.

That being said, I am looking for a set up that will provide consistent lighting in day light as well as night and will match my xenon headlights and chromium halos. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ron

Where do I get them? How much are they?

JCz04Bimmer 12-23-2005 05:01 PM

Or get something with a few more bulbs in it from www.autolumination.com. JLevi bulbs have 24, you can now get up to 32 LEDs! $14/ea + $7/ea load equalizers... $42+shipping... slightly more than JLevi... more bulbs... I think its worth it.

Do you have them on your car?

I have the "tree" versions sold by autolumination. They are excellent. I am considering switching over to these given that they direct most of their light forward.

I have no problem with it matching at all times of the day. I have not dealt with the new solaris bulbs, but I know for a fact (having used them) that the previous serious were so DIM that you couldn't even see them at night either.

I feel that these LEDs are the best bet to go with. I for one knowing that there's a 32 LED & those Light Tower series may get a pair and see if there is any different at all since it's an easy swap

Alright, now I'm confused. What is the tree version? And what are you considering switching over too? And why are you considering switching over to something else if the tree version is so good? Enlighten me please.

Thanks.

I have the white LED's as my front turn signals and it looks very nice. I have a couple of pictures showing the color of the turn signals at night. See below. The pictures show the LED turn signals when the parking lights are on. I have OEM xenon headlights and DDE's.

i havent been pulled over and mine look like those

I will be the first to tell you that they are about 30% dimmer in the daytime than OEM. With that said, they are still awesome and more than bright enough :)

Also, the 32 LEDs were intrigueing (and we almost invested in them) but I heard that they might not fit in some housings... :dunno:

Hey Ron,
I believe the tree version he is talking about is the "tower" bulb. The tree version has bulbs on the side and is slightly less bright aiming forward but emits light around the whole bulb. PM me for some more details on this and another idea I have that you might like.

EDIT: JLs are great products for sure so no need to worry either way. Have you thought about the corner delete mod? it really sets the front end off and I you can get the resistors from jlevi. A quick search and you will get a DIY for the corner delete and with either white or amber you will be looking good :)

Jlevi SW 12-23-2005 09:18 PM

Ours have LEDs around the side as well, but they have a few less ;)

BTW Garrett, I'm going to get those lips on the site shortly :)
