Anyone here have eclipse head unit installed or is planning on it?

I'm installing an Eclipse 8051 tomorrow morning

Are you performing the installation yourself?
Can you post pics?
Why did you choose that particular Eclipse?

Normally, I would install it myself, but in order to get theft replacement and 3 yr warranty, it needs to be installed by an authorized dealer.

As far as why I got it.... I've always been a huge Alpine fan, and still am. However, I've always thought the eclipse sounded a little better. The only reason I never bought one before is because there was a two year period where they had a skipping problem, and I didn't want to deal with that. From everything I have read, this has been fixed. I'll post pics tomorrow after it's done. I will be using the metra kit for a short time until SRCSTC (Rich) finishes my centered kit.

The reason I chose the 8051 was simple for me. I didn't want internal amplification, needed an aux in for my ipod, and I liked the remote with the 8051 better than the new 8052. Other than remote there is no difference between the two.

I am trying now to look for prices for different eclipse system but am having trouble. Where would be a good place?

Tweeter has some of the models on wisebuy. Also check with your local shops. Eclipse is strict about internet sales.

I've been thinking about a centered kit for awhile since I dont like the "offset to the left" look. Do you mind if I ask what its running you?
