How you likin the ambient light feature? Does it come pretty close to whats displaying on the screen? I have mixed opinions on that thing.

yeah its hot, u can change it to any of about 10-12 colors,have it set to a specific color or run through all of them, has a music interface that blinks with sound...

Looking good, is that blue light coming from the back of the tv like those phillips plasma's have?

How does that center speaeker sound? In the pics it looks like its on the wall, does the tv get in the way?

you buy all that at circuit city?

Is that one of those custom DVDs you can get at AVSforums? does it have all the trivia and what not on it?

Mike325i: yeah the same concept of the philips, its 2- 15" tubes that I have mounted to the back of the tv, one on each end. Unit has its own controller and power supply. Yes center speaker is on the wall ritth above the tv it sounds perfect and its not being blocked by the tv in any way, when u sit in front of it it looks like its right on top of it.

FloridaE46: na didnt get it from Circuit City, bought the tv/stand from 6th Ave, surround/hd dvd directly from panasonic, power console from Best Buy.

Simon2150: Yeah I got the dvd/image from a fellow member on AVS.

Looks good, but just a couple suggestions:
-It's hard to tell from the pix, but try to get your center channel more towards the front of the TV and angled at the seats. Maybe you could put it on the shelf below the TV and angle it up. You will notice an immediate improvement in dialog and action.

- Try to pull the rear speakers farther away from the seats and angle them more towards each other. This will give better imaging and a diffuse, ambient effect.

So where do you get the lights and where do they plug into?

baller99: There's a site called AVforums which they talk about eveything about home audio/video, there 's a member who hooks it up and does it for fellow members..here's the link...http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=538807 or if you want a custom intro you can go here...www.customintros.com/avsforum, Im dealing with them now to setup a unique custom intro for me which will include my image I currently have with 5.1 surround running.

europass/Jstar: I got the lights from www.cyron.com, speak to Al cool guy over there! The lights has its own control box which is small and power supply which gets connected to an AC outlet. The way I have it is plugged into the back of my HD box so everytime i turn it on the lights come up as well.

Whats up james, Yeah i have the same hook up and Panasonic :thumbup: , when I bought my tv a few montha ago I didnt know my friend worked there till after I bought it but i got my surround and hd dvd player from him with his discount.

Does it change colors randomly or is it actually "mood" changing w/ the program of the tv?

yup u got it! u can set it for one color so it always stays on that, or it switches to 10-12 or so colors,also it has a music interface that blinks with sound.

sosatyme, i'm still a little confused with the cryon system. just to clarify, this system can sync with audio (ie something like you would see at a club), not with the video (ie philips ambilight setups).
