2007 BMW 335i Coupe to Have 302-HP Turbo Six

Hope this isn't a repost http://www.caranddriver.com/article....ticle_id=10753

it is, but its always nice to hear it over and over again. That turbo is going to rock!

phrozen06 03-05-2006 01:20 PM

Interesting article. If the 335i turbo will have a base of 42k, 2008 M3 base of 52K what will the base be for the 330ci e92

I just hope to god that its not going to look like that.

The concept of twin-turbos is cool, but if thats really how its gonna look then id much rather just save up a little bit and buy an E39 ///M5 at that price or an E46 ///M3

no more 330ci...just 328i and 335i- no more Ci's. like they said, they took it away from the 650 and 645, so they're using the same concept

Boosted330 03-05-2006 11:54 PM

so how are they gonna differentiate between the coupes and sedans? or are they not going to?

MrL0Lz 03-06-2006 12:29 AM

If the wasnt so ugly I'd be all over this........

JoeK 03-06-2006 12:52 AM

Shouldn't this be called the 435i? Both the sedans and coupes are 3's?

Tinman 03-06-2006 09:13 AM

the engine will be fantastic! too bad they put it in such a ghastly exterior!

This is why I'm modding my E46 right now and keeping it until the E90 M3 comes out, rather spend the $10K more and get an M3

The 335i (the C goes away on this coupe)

= no such thing as a 335Ci?

Thats right....oh crap! i didn't think about the "fine print" oh well then it'll have to wait another year lol i have 3 years to put down a $20,000 down payment :yikes:

Griff330 03-06-2006 03:09 PM

Did they keep this car out of Geneva for the same reason movies like Gigli aren't shown to critics before release?

GIO_21 03-06-2006 04:07 PM

its really supposed to be a bi-turbo rather than a twin turbo according to some other references

chamber36 03-07-2006 11:54 AM

yeah its bi-turbo, not twin.. lol last time i checked, twin turbos didnt add 47 hp. thats almost as fast as my car stock... :(

1edyson 03-07-2006 01:29 PM

i think i may just hafta say buh bye to the 325 when that one comes out...

No, BMW is sticking with labeling the coupe and sedan 3...but there might be a new hardtop coupe that would be the 4 series that would come later on..but rumors are mixed on that

It is a twin turbo setup. Initially we thought it would be a bi turbo, like their diesel turbos, with two different turbos, a large one and a small one for high and low RPMs. But the initial reports were wrong and it is a twin turbo. Twin turbo just means two of the same turbo, and can either be sequential (like in the higher horsepower setups) or it can have one turbo for each half of the cylinders (like here)
