///M3 Lower Door Speakers
 

Hey guys I have an '01 M3 and i want to replace the two speakers on the doors (the lower ons near your feet) cause they suck!!!! I have the H/K system but I dont think that matters. :dunno:
I will eventually put a killer system in but I need to replace these two now before i go nuts. What size are they and what do you guys think I should replace them w/? I was thinkin Alpine typeR speakers but I dont know much about audio, i.e. speaker sizes & types. I could really use some info and advise!!!!!!:D

I dont have a M3 but I do have a 330ci with the Hk setup and what I did was add a 4 channel amplifier, which will be about the same price as a good set of components, to the existing Hk speakers and it sounds great. Every one is always amazed at the clarity and think that I am running boston or MbQuart. Hope this helps.

That sounds good but what size is the speaker itself?? And what kind is it? (tweeter, sub, mid????)

The ones that are there in the door panel are mids which I think were 6 1/2, but you can use 5 1/4 with an adapter either will work.

What 4 channel amp did you add? Was the HK one bad?

I've got an E46M3 with HK, and I was wondering what I can do to make it a little better, clearer, etc. I'm really new to this car audio thing, but what is the current setup of the HK? What sizes of speakers, and power rating are they?
