Urgent: TMS Rotors - Rears the Same?
I need some help ASAP.
I got home tonight intending to replace the brakes on my car (the wear sensor is making a horrendous noise against the rotor, but has not gone off yet).
Anyway, I start opening the boxes and discover that the Drilled rotors I ordered from Turner Motorsports seemed wrong. It looks like they sent me a pair of Fronts, and two left rear rotors (they're marked with stickers) :confused: . Hoping that the sticker was wrong, I peeked at the vanes and they are directionally vaned the same way, matching the drilling pattern. I've heard that the Brembo drilled rotors are not directionally vaned, but are directionally drilled.
Of course, TMS closed well before I got home to inspect the rotors :banghead:, so I'm looking for some help ASAP.

A buddy of mine had the same problem with his TMS slotted rotors that he ordered. The front rotors were identical, meaning that one of the slotted rotors faced forwards while the other was backwards. I've read up on this quite a bit and it's not really the face of the rotor that makes a difference (slots/drilled directions) but more the inside "veins of the discs that matter the most. They should be at a 45 degree angle BACKWARDS away from the front of the car to help with heat dissipation. So although it make look funky to have two front rotors that are the same, it all really depends on the veins of the rotor. So check the inside veins.
EDIT: This was also confirmed by the Brembo reps that I was talking to yesterday at the Big SoCal Euro meet.
