M Death? Warning: Graphic Content

What do you think? Is it totaled? I was driving home from work yesterday on a busy street when an old woman in a '95 Lexus pulled out right in front of me attempting to make a left-hand turn. She had a stop sign and lurched forward but abruptly hit the brakes. As this happened I hit my brakes thinking she was about to pull out in front of me. When I realized she was not going I let off the brake and continued on my way. As I closed in on the intersection she darts out right in front of me! The only thing I could do was slam on the brakes and cut right to avoid t-boning her driver-side door. Although that maneuver was successful the outcome was not so great. Luckily both parties were ok. The airbag burned some hair off my right wrist, but that was it. Things could have played out much worse and I certainly feel lucky. One of the things that hurt most was watching the nice cars (M5, C4S, Z06, e93M3, Turbo) roll by and watch their faces cringe. If I had a child I imagine this is how I would feel if he/she was punched in the face, repeatedly.

Damn I'm sorry to see that. Did the police determine that it was her fault?

ouch good luck with everything :(

generally if the bags blow its totalled. its very difficult to properly replace that stuff. and you may have frame damage.. if insurence calls it totalled, take the money, do the best you can and get another. Thats what i would do.

good luck

when i wrecked my '99 328I the estimate came back at just over a total...by like 200 bucks i think and it looked exactly the same way...all of my airbags popped so im guessing it wont be totalled, although the M parts are going to cost quite a lot more

I can only hope it is totaled at this point. If not, the car will be worth next to nothing if I ever try to sell it. Yes, police found her at fault for the accident.

If it is totaled, anyone know of a good 2006 M3 Competition for sale?

aggieE46 09-15-2009 01:52 PM

Man, sorry! That sucks.

SLVR JDM 09-15-2009 01:56 PM

Hopefully it is done. You don't want that car anymore knowing what it has been through now.

Yeah, I think so..... Well, nobody got hurt (except the M) and looks like she did him a favor, if if it was a shitty way to go.

LOL yea, I keep changing my mind. I really like the rawness of the e46 but the idea of a new car is equally appealing. I guess I have to make up my mind soon now, huh?
