Is there a major premium for e39 M5s nowadays?
 

Everything I've been looking at is priced 4-5k over blue book, can anyone provide some insight into whether this car is actually worth that much?

i see them for sale all the time for around 15k browsing around online.

Everything I'm looking at is 01+ under 50k miles, I'm too worried about the VANOS failure that plagued the earlier models and high mileage M5s are kind of iffy to me.

PM sent, but for others to judge it's an 01 with 33k miles on it and they're asking 29k.

I got my 03 w/ 54k miles on it a year ago for 26k after tax.

The prices on M5's have gone down since then... so I'd say you should look for a better deal.

I was looking at m5s a while back and that seem to be the price that they are hovering around. KBB and NADA are worthless imho.
