Racelands vs TA Technix...

Hi there from Greece and Happy new year to all!!

Im a member here for a long time, but never posted.. Just visiting the forum for reading and watching pics.. (Hope my english is good..:))

Ive read some threads here mostly about racelands.. (and TUVs that expired and etc..)

I want to try a cheap coilover suspension..

I find both brands at ebay.de at around 200,00 euro including shipping to Greece..

My car is a 318 coupe E46 and wears sachs shocks with ACS springs and H&R anti roll bars at the moment.. I want to lower the car 1,5-2cm more from what it is now.. (I think the ACS springs are 30cm..)

What to you suggest?? Raceland or TA Technix??

???????????????

Raceland is most hated here, yet those that have them have yet to have any issues.
never heard of that other brand you mention.
since you're looking for a mild drop, why not get more aggressive springs, Eibach or H&R or Tien, and then just upgrade the shocks & struts to Bilstein or Koni.

Ive been to Greece, and you guys have great roads, well kept, so d be more inclined to try them there, but then when i think of your long HWYs and the speeds you can get up to, suddenly im not so sure.

Thanks for the reply snikwad!

Since you ve been to Greece.. Our roads are not good.. Maybe some HWYs are, but generally we don't have good roads.(I dont know where have you been and you have this idea :)) I live in an island (Chios) and roads are worse!! What I want is, to lower my car a bit more without being very stif..
Except for the stuff that I read about racelands, I think that the stifness that they offer will be ok for me..
Basically, Im interested for an adjustable cheap coilover suspension to lower the car as I want (maybe more than 2cm from what it is now, I don't know..) not slammed like some E46s that I see in the forum (although I like this lowering.. our roads are NOT for this kind of lowering).
Future plans are upgrade to a 6cylinder M54 engine with all the necessairy stuff (diff, suspension, brakes etc, because they are all different from 4cylinder to 6cylinder) or selling it and getting an M3 E46! So I don't want to spend a lot of money now!
Here is the site of TA Technix http://tuningart.de/SITE/index.php?o...mid=71&lang=en
All the cheap coilovers that I see at ebay are made in china?

i guess i was just on the HWYs then, cant remember where i was, didnt venture far from the air base really. dunno what to tell you man. fukit, give it a shot, id just inspect them frequently if your roads are crap.

Iam searching for a cheap German made coilover.. Then I ll see..
Last option will be racelands..
Also, I would like to mention that I don't have the car for track use and I dont use it every day.. I do 10.000km in a year or maybe less than 10.000km...
Thanks anyway snikwad.. :D

Snik 01-13-2010 04:31 PM

oh you barely drive it, even better.
yeah look around some more 1st man. but as they say, no one has had any issues with a set yet, as far as ive seen on these boards. so who knows.

RockLee 01-13-2010 04:40 PM

Just get Racelands, You don't really use the car, they are cheap and nobody has had a problem with them yet.

Good luck in your search but I am very doubtful you will find anything that cheap coming out of Germany. If you do though, let us know.

zaharias 01-18-2010 06:33 AM

About TA Technix...

Here http://tuningart.de/SITE/index.php?o...mid=83&lang=en says that are based in Berlin.. (but it doesn't mean they are made in Germany I suppose..??)
Here is the translation from German to English..http://translate.google.gr/translate...A&sl=de&tl=en#

Raceland's base is Belgium and the suspensions are manufactured in China..??

Yes.. I ve seen some advertisements here in Greece, not anything else..
I don't know anyone who has them on to have an opinion..
But their price is almost twice of racelands after a quick view..
