Can I turn a wheel into a coffee table?

Hi everyone. I just got a wheel replacment confirmed by insurance for a damaged rear 19" Competition Package M3 wheel. Since I'm getting my new one I'd like to turn the old one into a coffee table. It was cosmetically damaged, refinished, and they couldn't match the colour, still perfectly round. I was thinking about mounting a round glass top onto it. Can anyone figure out how to do this?

...no need to mount the glass, just use some clear rubber feet/pads.
Attach the pads to the rim, and place the glass on top, let gravity do the rest.

I hadn't thought of doing the glass fully self contained within the wheel, using the rim as a table "lip". I had planned on doing a larger table, say 28-36" inches in glass diameter. This is why I asked about securing. i wouldn't want someone to set something on the edge and have the weight tip the table over, otherwise I would use the clear rubber pads mentioned above. Would I just use some type of crazy glue like substance for a larger glass piece?

A clear silicone based adhesive should due the trick if you really want to affix the glass to the rim.
Devcon adhesive and sealant should do the job, it works with both metal and glass.
