Cool colored interior lights, but need help
One of the things I really like about my 2002 325 is the color of the dash lights. I wanted to get colored light bulbs (194s-xenon or leds) that would output a color like the dash lights for the overhead and read reading lights. That is, I wanted to change the interior lighting from white to this reddish orange when one opens a door. To my eyes, that color is sort of a reddish orange, but I have not been able to find that color in a commercial bulb (xenon or led). So, removed the bulb from the overhead and gave it two coats of orange and one coat of red Magic Marker. Wow, the effect was perfect. A beautiful warm red-orange upon entering the car (see pics below)...at least in the front cabin as I couldn't get the rear reading light cover off.

I had seen a DIY on how to do it by placing a flathead in the two slots at the sides of the lens. I tried, but felt that I had to pry too much and there was a good possibility that I would crack the lens. What I need a little tweaking help on just how to pry without braking the lens...
