Transmission gone... Where to buy???

Hola y como estas?

Well Sh*t, my Tranny is done, after the beating my 2002 M3 took from its previous owner, the tranny is gone... Just got word from the wife back home in the states that 3rd gear is gone which i already knew, and now 4th is almost to that same point....

its time to go shopping for the ONE thing we M power owners hate to have to buy (besides a new S54 completely)...

i cant seem to find a place online or anywhere that sells them, and AM NOT PAYING that 7 or 8 thousand dollar price a dealer will quote me....

are there any places you guys know of that sell them new?
if they sell em used, is it a reputable company?

etc etc.

sorry to be a bother, i just seem to be running out of luck with my bimmer, it got to the point where i was almost getting ready to sell her, and pick up a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT... and please, dont share your comments on that, i just threw it in there for added effect...
anyway.
thank you once again for your time and consideration.
HASTA!

I've had pretty good luck with LKQ but there are others out there. I did a quick search and there are plenty of used ones.

Might be worth looking at a 330 6-speed transmission; the MZ4s use that gearbox with the same engine, so I doubt there'd be any mechanical issues

The 330 6 speed is not the same.

I know it's not the same as the M3s getrag, I'm just saying the MZ4s (which also have the S54 engine) did use the GS6-37BZ (like the 330i 6-speed), so there shouldn't be any compatibility issues. Just thought I'd point that out since I'm willing to guess it may be easier to find that transmission
