323i Headers

alright. So my exhaust is completely done, and now im curious about headers. I know there are a million posts on this, but i want my own... :) anyway, i know ebay headers is pretty much the way to go with my 2000 323i, im just curious about the install. anything i should know? will i have a check engine light for any reason??

i purchased ebay headers a while back n tried the install..i got the screwed with the ones i purchased because the o2 sensor bungs were not properly installed in the right locations so i couldnt put them back in. as for the actual install..it is sort of a pain, i put them in by myself without removing the mount, i dont know how i did it but it was difficult.

more than likely u will throw a code or two because of the location of ur post-cat sensors and the readings they will get. either get some o2 simulators or run them down farther in the exhaust path.

good luck my friend

yea in that case, i probably wont do them. just sounds like ill regret it. thank you!

do it, i love mine. just get o2 sims for your post cats.

I have to be honest, this forum is getting a bit ridiculous. There are a million posts and diys on this. Everything from installation to the fact that you will definitely have check engine lights, and the several fixes for those warning lights are covered hundreds of time over. Posts like this just push down posts with information and questions not already covered.

very true.

I'd recommend this too just so that he doesnt go through the hassles that I did. I've never heard of people having installing issues with Stetts. Surely worth the extra money for them, and are still very affordable.

Stett: are they different than ebay or just ceramic coated ebay headers?

If they are truly different than ebay and of higher quality than they are a huge deal considering they are ceramic coated, too!

I'm skeptical.
