Awesome, looks like you had some fun! :)

Thanks for sharing.

bigjae1976 03-19-2010 05:50 AM

Pretty intense!

McSpeed 03-19-2010 08:53 AM

Nice!

bigjae1976 03-19-2010 06:55 PM

The white car that spun, was it an Audi or Evo?

vaio76109 03-19-2010 08:53 PM

Audi A4 2 classes faster than me(GTS4).

drivrswntd 03-19-2010 08:59 PM

Video looked good. Your car is definitly too fast to be JP, I'd be protesting if I was racing you :) j/k

On a different note I still dont get why zhp's have a higher weight than regular 330's. It makes no sense what so ever.

Mr Paddle.Shift 03-19-2010 11:25 PM

Good job, greg!

djnekkon 03-19-2010 11:31 PM

I'm under-powered, under-tired, and over-weight for JP. The Green E36 in the video is a 2.8L JP car that's detuned (-30hp) and with 90 lbs added to race in GTS2... that's what I get to go up against.

I agree, the ZHP JP weight is unfair since the main differences are the cams, which are prepared legal anyways.

McSpeed 03-22-2010 10:03 AM

is that a tire pressure gauge in the middle of your dash?

vaio76109 03-22-2010 12:32 PM

Nope, oil pressure, water temp, and oil temp.

oops I meant the thing on top of your dash, in the middle - what's that?

vaio76109 03-23-2010 11:45 PM

Oh, a friends Traqmate(data acquisition).

JimmyOberg 03-24-2010 05:41 AM

Looks FUN.

BimmerFerret 04-26-2010 09:47 AM

I would LOVE to do something like this. Just once even.

Look up you local BMWCCA chapter and see when their nearest HPDE/DE(Driver's Education) is, that'll get you started.

Here are some videos from 2 weekends ago at the same track, but backwards(CW) and with a different organization.

Fun Race 3, Australian Chase:

I had a BMWCCA race at TWS this weekend. Pretty good weekend for me, considering the JP cars I was up against, I just needed more rain.

Rain Race 1: Qualified on pole by 9 seconds. Sean Garrity and I get forced off in T4 on the first lap, we get back on track almost at the very back of the pack. I work my way back up to first in JP and second overall, finishing .995 seconds behind the leader.

Australian Chase Race 2: Pretty boring.
http://vimeo.com/11815009

Race 3: Some decent action, I finish 5th overall and 2nd in JP.

Race 4: Sean Garrity(green E36), one of my JP competitors, starts at the back of the pack and catches me ~8 minutes into the race. My car was also pretty loose this race. Look to the right of the back straight at 18:39 for the deer running at me. Luckily the Panda(my car) scared it off. I finish 3rd overall and 2nd in JP.
