ran my '01 325i at the dragstrip for the hell of it

I only had time for one pass because I ran my friends GT500 one pass too.

15.44@88 60ft was 2.2 ish I think from bogging. I know I can do alot better, seems decent for a stock car with a system in it. It has a short ram hot air intake too LOL. I might go run it again tomorrow too.

AlwayzUnce 04-24-2010 11:49 PM

nice bro

TiAgTouring 04-24-2010 11:52 PM

thats not bad for a 2.5L and one pull...

dsblk93gt 04-24-2010 11:57 PM

146k miles too! I definitely want to run it tomorrow. I can't find any STOCK times for one of these cars anywhere..I know they are not made for drag racing. I was impressed with the lack of wheel hop compared to other IRS cars I've raced at the track.

dinan Bimmer 04-25-2010 12:16 AM

not bad.

TiAgTouring 04-25-2010 12:19 AM

0-60 and 1/4 mile times for Thousands of cars:

TiAgTouring 04-25-2010 12:20 AM

325i 5sp E46....0-60 is 7.1, not sure on 1/4, prob 15.2 or .3 for new and stock

lllSupra 04-25-2010 12:25 AM

yea i ran a 15.5 in my auto 330i... when it was stock but having tranny problems... not mechanical problems... software problems. Will be running it again soon with a dinan tube style intake and uuc tse3

I think I can get 15.2 out of it easy. I might stick the stock airbox back on though for the next trip or just bring it with me. I had over 1/2 tank of gas and my subwoofer but no spare tire.

I bogged hard

60ft 2.227
1/8th 9.911
1/8th mph 69.93

1/4 ET 15.453
1/4 MPH 88.51

13.98 in my 330xi 5spd shark ltw flywheel lighter rims ssk stg 2 clutch headers intake. and whole car is stripped from front seats back. nice run

e46techtuner 04-25-2010 10:51 PM

nice time! i ran a 15.4 at 92mph when my car (5spd) was completely stock too!

dsblk93gt 05-03-2010 07:13 PM

I went back again, I'll post up the complete time slip. 15.46@89 was my best, I thought shifting to 4th was hurting my time but apparently not. I have a short ram style intake and I'm going back to the stock airbox next time I run the car.

dsblk93gt 05-14-2010 04:21 PM

I am thinking I need to get a filter for the stock air box and try that, I just don't want to ruin my clutch at the track. This was the best pass of the 2nd day, left it in 3rd I think it hurt my time even though the mph was better.

60ft 2.204
1/8th 9.901
1/8th mph 69.50
1/4 ET 15.461
1/4 MPH 89.31

mrshelley 05-14-2010 06:31 PM

My best is a 7.76@183mph.

Certainly not a BMW.

But it's very likely John has run that number....

Oops! Sorry. That was when I used to run Super Comp in a dragster. When we didn't have to run in Super Comp (thus no throttle stop) you could let that 434 SBC really sing.

lol

I have not driven anything faster than a high 10 second car myself but have been in 890rwhp Supra. The 325i is rather boring at the dragstrip but I was there with my friend when he was running his GT500 and figured I might as well run it.

My LX should be around 10.8-10.9@126-129 with the slicks maybe low 11's on Nitto's
