FS: 1985 M635CSi - Flagstaff, AZ
 

Up for sale is my 1985 M635CSi with 118,800 mi. The vehicle has records that date back to 1990. The previous owner babied the car up until about 2003 when he bout a vette. After that, the car was basically stored in his garage in Houston. I purchased the car from his estate. His widow had taken the time to get the car ready for sale, addressing some issues, fluids, etc. I purchased the car a little over a year ago and drove it home to Flagstaff. The drivetrain and body are very strong, as you will see by the records below.

Recent work done to the car (in my tenure - since 115,900 mi):

Replaced front and rear brake rotors

Rebuilt front and rear brake calipers

Replaced parking brake hardware (internal to parking drum)

Replaced tie rod ends

Replaced sway bar links, font and rear

Replaced dogbones

Replaced lower control arms (uppers done by PO very recently)

Replaced shocks (all 4 corners with Bilstein Sports)

Replaced shock tower mounts and associated hardware (all 4 corners)

Replaced hydroboost

Coolant flush

Brake fluid flush

Replaced transmission fluid

Replaced differential fluid

Replaced fuel filter

Replaced rear fuel lines

Replaced air filter

Repalced vacuum hoses

Replaced AC, alternator, and PS belts

Replaced Oil, Oil filter

4 Wheel Alignment



Highlights of work done by previous owner, and estimated mileage at which the work was complete (some receipts are for parts only...he wrenched)

Replaced timing chain, guides, and associated parts (99,000 - June 1994)

Replaced diff mount (100,000)

Replaced fuel pump (seems to be external based upon later receipt) (108,000)

Replaced clutch slave cylinder (109,000)

Repaint vehicle (109,000 - October 1998) (receipt for 4400$)

Replaced transmission with 265 transmission (113,230)

Also replaced rear main seal, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and TO bearing with above

Replaced alternator bushings (113,734)

Replaced compressor and other AC parts (114,000)

Replaced in tank fuel pump (116,149)

Replaced upper control arms (116,375)



What it needs (and what I am working on fixing)?

AC does not work. It worked when I bought it, though not very well.

Heater blower works on high only.

Antenna comes up partway. (fixed 06.10.10)

Dashboard is cracked

Headliner looks pretty good, but red dust falls from time to time.

Temp guage flutters a bit

Drivers side seat is a bit loose.

Door seals are pretty good, as they were replaced by the PO, but windows could use adjustment

Right front suspension clunk

they only made about 3700 of these across the run, and it put put close to 300hp during a time when typical was half that. plus, its damn sexy! :)
