Dynavin solutions

BACKGROUND As a regular contributor here and on the Dynavin forums as "jeffb325" I have seen first hand many of the frustrations and difficulties many of you have run into trying to buy and use Dynavin units. Because of this it became apparent to me that there was a great opportunity to do a better job and I have decided to step up and become a Dynavin dealer. I currently have a car audio, parts, tools, and accessories business, J&T Distributing, so this online venture will be an extension of my current "old fashioned" brick and mortar business.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS READ THIS FIRST: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=754606[/B],

I tried to condense the entire thread into the first three posts, I know its a long read but if you are going to buy a dynavin READ IT you will be happy you did. If you still have any questions just send me an email or PM.....and dont forget to jump to the end of this thread to see the latest.

My intention is to put this level of information and detail into my customer service as this seems to be what is missing from many of our current dealer options.

My August and September E46 shipments are sold out, because of this overwhelming demand I can only take names for an interest list and will contact you in the future when more units become available.

Contact me at jtdist@sbcglobal.net with your name, username (if you have one) and email address. I will email you back to let you know when I expect to have a unit available for you. While I am not requiring prepayment at this time I may require a deposit as we get closer to the ship date depending on demand.

A few days before your unit is in ready to be shipped I will send you an invoice for the balance, when you pay the balance i will ship your unit. If you would like to take your name off the reservation list at any time just email me and I will take you off the list and refund any deposits or prepayments you might have.

In addition, if you are in California and you want to take a drive, by all means come by and see me in person, see the Dynavin installed in my car. I can also do the installation for you if you dont want to get your hands dirty!

This is where things stand right now:

AVAILABILITY Email me for current availability, Demand has been overwhelming and Dynavin's shipping dates have been....flexible.....I have no control over their shipping dates so no promises. The incoming units will always be the NEWEST units with all the very latest updates.

PRICING $649 shipped (domestic ups ground), payable with paypal, this includes a line output converter, install guide, and free shipping, and all the advice and help you might need. I will post if anything changes.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, Email me with your postal code and country and I will get you a shipping quote. Let me know what you would like to purchase and I can email you an invoice.

IF YOU HAVE OEM NAV The plugs that are in the dash on non-nav cars are in the trunk on oem nav equipped cars. In order to install the dynavin you will need a wire harness, known as the 5M Fakra harness, to extend all your connections up to the dash. It is a bit more work, not that hard, but just be aware that you have a different and more extensive install than standard. I can provide you with this special harness, it costs $55.

AC RELOCATION KIT Also, I know I will be asked this a million times so (thanks to some of our friends down under) here is a link to the different "AC RELOCATION KITS"....http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showpos...8&postcount=88
you can get these from your dealer, ebay, EAS (sponsor), tischer bmw (sponsor) etc... or dont use one at all (it works, just isnt quite as finished looking) I will likely be offering them as well at some point soon but for now I need to concentrate on getting the dynavin deal going.

ANTENNA ISSUES Cars originally equiped with EARLY BUSINESS HEADUNITS, the ones with "CD" buton instead of a "mode" will not get good radio reception when an aftermarket head unit as they use a powered antenna setup that recieves its power from the stock head unit. Take out the head unit and loose the antennas power source. I am currently trying to get confimation on how to best address this issue, discussion and solutions for this problem can be found by searching E46fanatics, try this thread for a start: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...enna+amplifier. Im pretty sure I know which adapters to use but seeing how I dont have an early E46 and have not done an install on one, I dont know for sure. Once we can nail down EXACTLY which adapter to use I will post it here and probably offer them to customers as well.

To add a little extra value I have put together a comprehensive guide to walk you through every step, making the installation a breeze for just about anybody. In addition to that I will be able to supply you with any other A/V accessories/cables you might need to get the most out of your Dynavin purchase.

Im happy to let everyone know that one of their own is getting into the business and I look forward to helping in any way I can!

Thanks, it seems like there has been a lack of responsiveness from some vendors and downright fraud from others so I feel like its time for someone to open up another supply channel for you guys that is both responsive and legitimate. Between the existing forum sponsors here I hope that we can together relieve some of the supply/demand backups that are happening.

PreppyR6 07-01-2010 11:07 AM

Hey Jeff, if we got on your mailing list before this post came out, are we already on your order list?

jeffb325@NavigationSolutions 07-01-2010 11:20 AM

All you guys are allready on the list!.....Pete, #12 has your name on it!

This is something I am currently working on. I dont have details yet but I dont think it will be a problem. Keep an eye on this thread, I will update it when I have something nailed down.

Hey Jeff thanx for all the info, & nice way 2 step up....quick question Jeff can we also purchase the relocation kit from you also...?

jeffb325@NavigationSolutions 07-01-2010 04:14 PM

At this point I have not set anything up with regards to the relocation kit, I have had my hands full getting everything else in place first. Once things get rolling and I get a better idea how many units I am selling I may offer them but for now I would recomend contacting forum sponsor Tischer BMW, they have always taken care of me when it comes to OEM parts.

Will you be able to provide some of the sofware and firmware updates that are being developed by VisalisE and others on the Dynavin boards? I'm not interested in attempting to perform those upgrades without a clue as to what I was doing and possibly bricking my unit.
In the other hand I am very interested in getting the latest, greatest fully baked version of the machine. The skin you've shown pics of looks better integrated to the car, and igo Primo looks pretty spectacular. All of which I'd pay a bit more for if they were professionally and reliably installed for me.
Plus, I'd rather give my money to someone like you that has been transparent and honest from the start.
Thanks for throwing your hat into the ring!

jeffb325@NavigationSolutions 07-01-2010 05:59 PM

.....well...... Vasilis doesnt even have a working version of the firmware with my new UI on it so for now I would just say "stay tuned"....

With regards to the nav program that I am running on my unit (the high resolution one from my info thread)....it is something that Vasilis put together and it isnt something I could or would charge for. Understand that the nav is basicly windows running a program contained on the sd card, so it will run pretty much any program you stick in it (although some better than others) so the procedure to get updated nav has more to do with what and how you download/buy the program than how to make work on the dynavin. I will help with the steps to get it set up on your unit for sure though. Dont worry about bricking your unit, The only danger of that comes from hacking the DVD board and that isnt something anyone of us is doing.....only vasilis and a couple other dynavin developers are that deep into it, and they wont release anything unless it is safe. From what I have seen an update procedure seems to be in place now with a special USB cable so I think that easy DIY firmware updates (either from dynavin or vasilis) should be coming sooner than later.

Thanks for the compliments, it is my intention to be as honest and straightforward with this venture as possible...On the internet word of mouth is EVERYTHING, so I want you guys to know I am your fellow member and fanatic first, and a business second, and any of you who have worked with me know that I will always help in any way I can. (and if I make a few bucks doing it I wont mind!)

Ill definitely have to take a look in there every once in awhile....

So I did a search but couldn't find any info on this. Does the dynavin come with a hd radio tuner ? And if it doesn't, I would think that all new head units, esp for this price, would have it integrated as standard.

jeffb325@NavigationSolutions 07-02-2010 08:21 AM

At this point the dynavin does not support hd radio...I wouldnt expect it to either because (as far as I know?) HD radio is a US broadcast standard (and not a very popular one) and the dynavin is a global product. If dynavin moves A LOT of units in the US they may think about adding a feature like that but at this point I cant imagine them manufacturing a different unit just for the US market. I am also a pioneer electronics dealer and I can tell you pioneer does not support HD radio much either....only a couple of models in their lineup support it.

And I hate to tell you this if you are a fan of HD radio......out of the thousands of posts i have seen an responded to on multiple forums about the dynavin.....you are the first person to ask about HD radio.....

Dynavin's focus has been more on the internet support side of things, the new units will be compatible with their "3G internet pack," basically a USB modem and related cables and software. The way I understand it is that it will use a data sim card that you will get from (and pay for) your cell phone company, I would imagine that you could use your cell phones sim as well but until I have one and can mess around with it nothing is for sure....It looks interesting and could really expand what is possible in a mobile environment.

StephanM3 07-02-2010 11:01 AM

Thanks! ... so they are still updating and making the product better! that is nice, so I imagine they have fixed all the major bugs? also what other features are there is there any place where I can get a look at the specs and things it has built in?

jeffb325@NavigationSolutions 07-02-2010 11:28 AM

Well the major bug has been the noise issues...this has been fixed with the LOC that they now have available, it will come with the new units and is available for purchase on the older units (although any LOC will work) see my "dynavin info" post here for everything you every wanted to know about the dynavin: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=754606

StephanM3 07-02-2010 12:35 PM

Really a world of thanks for all the nicely written product overview, as soon as I get the money I will be ordering a Dynavin from you! I just kinda wasted the money I had saved up for it on angel eyes, splitters and diffuser :( ... I live on Puerto Rico so I need a quote of how much the shipping will be and in what methods will you accept payment? I will tell you as soon as I get the money, should take me around 2 months as I have to pay for painting the diffuser and also will be going on Vacation soon for about a month. I will tell so you don't place me in the preorder yet so I don't hold up someone who already has the money for it. Another thing is that I would like the newest unit (firmware/software, whatever) available from them, is the price higher or the same?
