FI 323ci custom tuning.... Where and how?

I'm going to be doing a custom turbo for my 2000 323ci and I was wanting to get some insight from you guys on how I would get it tuned. I plan I doing a small t3 t4 hybrid. I want to push out max of about 350hp but realistically in the upper 200's. Do I need and external device to piggy back the ECM? What is your opinion on how I should go about this?

find someone to tune your car before you get into this, without tuning you have nothing. search on here for rito he has a 5 series with a custom turbo.

cnotesdip 07-08-2010 08:51 PM

a couple of years back i try to do the same thing on my 330 and many told me just to buy a kit from aa or nick g, i ended up buying a mossleman turbo kit i never got to use and still ended up buying a AA kit. its gonna be hard to find somebody who is going to help you tune your car this is going to be the biggest problem your going to run into. The Bmw tuners out there are Active Autowerke Technique tuning and others if your looking for a turbo i suggest you go with a technique tuning one if your open into getting a supercharger i would go with AA stg2 is suppose to make 340hp

i got a rear uuc sway if your interested i couldnt get mines to fit because i have a m3 diff and is suppose to be for a 3series

There has to be someone else that can tune bmws well. Maybe?

Hello remshot11 i would gladly help with anything i can. First off the engine management was a Pectel tuned using their software, i believe it is called pi tool. The standalone with wiring and traction control was around 7,000. Now as people have stated i did spend a pretty penny, the reason being was i did not have the knowledge beofre i started this project and by the time i was half way through with no turning back i realized how expensive it was! So lets just say i forged the path for others to follow, and it was a expensive lesson. Anyways how much money do you have to spend, and what are your goals. A t3/4 is a very good choice as i had to build my motor to get the potential out of my GT35r. You wont have to do this with your t3/4. As you asked in your pm the company that did the tuning was called Apex Speed technology, the tuners name was Neel. They are willing to travel but you have to pay their expenses. Anything else feel free to ask.

Why not AEM EMS, which I believe has VVT control, is reasonably priced, and many tuners are familiar with it?

t84toy 07-20-2010 07:49 PM

To make it short and simple. All you need is your stock computer and the RIGHT person to tune the car.. Just did my and got 283 at the wheel............. Soon to post it. >>> 323ci 2000 e46 SC <<< :4ngie::4ngie:

AEM are useless that's why. I did it with an AEM no problems. But you want it even easier go with a Vi-PEC. They do know what they are doing and will give you the info to get the car running with their ECU.

not a lot of places in dallas that can do that for you. Cobb can probably do a stand alone system.
