Wow that's weird. Have you tried asking KONI about it? Hope you can remedy that...

BTW, Are those H&R sport springs compatible with stock shocks/struts? I'm thinking of picking some up, but I don't have the funds to get shocks with them.

The H&R's ate up his stock shocks.

Bump

1. your previous shocks were just blown.

2. make the the shock is fully seated behind the rotor. a lot of the time theres another inch or so that the shock can move down. loosen the bottom bolt and fiddle around with it.

take a picture of how far it is seated in there and i should be able to help.

Yeah I was pretty sure to get it in there all nice but.... I can get some pics for you guys. I did notice that my oem shock was a little too far down when I took them out... Is there any way to go lower than this? I have the sport springs that are red....

Check if the springs are resting of the dips in the hat and bottom plate. Check if the strut nut is tight. Make sure the bottom of the shock is as low as possible before you tighten the pinch nut by the rotor. Give the setup time to settle, I have an xi with Konis and Eibach ProKits and your gap is bigger :slap:

BreakMyWallet 08-23-2010 11:57 PM

yeah i had to pry mine open and put a jack under my rotor and push it up.

lllSupra 08-24-2010 10:24 AM

Could I tighten the strut nut from the shock tower while they are installed? I also have some reinforcement plates I never put in should I just take it all out and put those in as well?

You should do your own work! Much better feeling when its you who made your car look/perform like it does. Not to mention all the knowledge and experience you gain!

lllSupra 08-24-2010 11:37 AM

Well I just put my meyle hd rear shock mounts in... i guess I'll put the fronts in too and check out the struts. it does look like I can torque down that strut nut a bit more.

EDIT: I also notice that the springs in the front are binded right now.... as in the coils are all touching towards the top, is that normal?

lllSupra 08-24-2010 12:13 PM

Ok both the brake assemblies look spot on. There is about a quarter of an inch of the the strut sticking out the bottom. I'm gonna pull the struts out and tighten the main strut bolt. Any recommendations on how to hold the the strut to keep parts from spinning while I tighten the bolt?
