Window Regulator Bolts and Plastic Clips

1 Attachment(s)
Apparently the bolts and clips don't come with the regulator.

Does any one know where I can buy 2003 325xi window regulator bolts and plastic clip? How much do they cost?(see attached pictures)

Thanks!

You cant reuse your old ones? They should cost less than $5 per side. The obvious solution is go to your nearest dealer. They might not have them in stock though--i can't imagine that its a commonly stocked item.

Looks like you want part numbers 2, 3, and 4 from this link below:

Try GetBMWParts.com, BMWPartsSource.com, AutohausAZ.com, etc..

I reused mine on my driver and passenger doors. If they aren't broken, you should just reuse them. If the tub nut (for lack of a better name) falls out the back, just press it back into the red piece - the bolt will will pull it nice and snug.

On the "Hex bolt", the note says "ENDED". Does it mean anything?

You can buy these parts at your local dealer for a few bucks. Don't reuse them. They are known to break on their own and when they do your window falls right off of the regulator. Why risk having to go back in there again just to replace this little piece?

Your welcome :hi:

I see what you're saying, Gary but it's extremely easy to pop the panel and vapor barrier and replace the clips. Usually I'd recommend replacing small things like bolts and plastic parts but in my case I was already knee deep in the job on a Sunday and just reused the old parts. They seemed to be fine and my windows function perfectly again. I could be wrong though.

These regualtors are used on many cars and trucks i.e. Ford trucks. So they are pretty available. They will break at some point. If you can get the plastic piece get it. It is worth it. The nut and bolt can be reused without any problem, that is unless they are stripped or rounded off.

Ignore the moron remarks - he needs the bolts, so do I

The bolts were gone on 2 of the window clips on my car, so I too need them. I appreciate the info that they're available at the dealer and that it's a good idea to change them. The guy who lambasted you for not "reusing" the originals didn't bother to RTFQ apparently. :banghead:

I bought my dealer's remaining stock. The nuts (bushings is the correct label) were $1.13, the clips were .77.

Turns out window guide was twisted, kept breaking clips. $375 fix. Sigh.

New clips, bolts and bushings/nuts are so cheap it's a no brainer...if your dealer has them. My dealer had 2 clips and 1 bushing in stock. I'd at least recommend new bolts because I nearly stripped the (very short) heads trying to remove and reinstall.

Turns out I must have put my nuts (bushings item 4) in backwards! Also I was going to ask about the vapor seal gunk, what is it called and what's the best to get? Do BMW sell that gunk in a tub or similar?

The gunk is 3M Window Weld. My dealer sold it in a 15ft roll for like $10.

Thank you, something else not easily obtainable in the UK, but I'll find similar, it did used to be on Amazon UK, but not any more.

I must be stupid. I have changed the window regulators MANY times on my e46 2000. Never had a problem, and never was aware that the clips/bolts should be changed. Perhaps just lucky.
BUT--next time I will do that---perhaps my luck is running out. 13 years old, some of the windows had their regulators changed twice.
