BTW, your Ebay kit will not last as long as an OE regulator, so expect to redo this job again.... and pay more.

I did the zip tie method and then it broke again. For the 48 dollars I spent on a new rail for the window regulator from ebay, I wouldn't mind if I had to do it multiple times. I've never had a problem with the new one.

+1

I did the same thing 2 years ago :banghead: and it promptly stopped working after 4 months. Go OEM on this one bud.

Has anyone tried the one from auto zone? There about 80 bucks a window but they have a lifetime warranty, not two like the OEM. If it breaks just bring back and get a replacement for free. What do you think? I am about to replace mine both front windows.

80$ Thats not bad, I think the parts stores are starting to warm up to us. I just did my power steering pump and with the military discount from oreilly it was 83.99 for life time warranty PSP and they had them in stock.

For my window I just went to harbor freight and got metal packing ties just like zip ties but they are steel I installed them in three positions in the regulator then used some plastic weld to hold the last few oem plastic pieces in place. I did this a year ago on both front windows (they went out at the same time) and haven't had a problem yet.

Yeah there alway been cheaper then OEM and better stuff then the dealer most times at least for my ford. I am sure this will be the same. And i try the packing ties for one the one door, the other the wire got twisted some how:facepalm:
