Breakfast tips

Hey guys,

I'm tired of eating cereal every morning before work. The good thing is, it only takes about 30 seconds to "prepare," but I'd like to switch it up.

Any good ideas for breakfast? Something that will only take a couple of minutes max to prepare.

Pick up a box of Quaker instant oatmeal. Don't know if you're looking into losing weight but oats help a lot! :)

+1 on oats, you can always add apples, bananas or grapes ;)

Nice. Do you eat them cold or just pop them in the microwave for a few seconds then?

bimmerchop 05-05-2011 10:32 AM

Either/or. I LOVE overnight oats, so many possibilities too...

+1 quaker oats

w/ honey?
w/ maple syrup?
w/ raisins?
w/ dried cranberries?

Hardboiled eggs are also good and easy to eat on the run.

Toast the oats in the oven or pan then microwave for a little w/ water. Dump cinnamon and honey on it. I put a tiny bit of cold milk with mine. Two bowls and you're full till lunch! Add apple, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, or whatever you'd like.

Thanks guys. Working 8/9-5/6 sucks! All my other jobs had flexible hours, so I was always able to eat ALL the time and be able to go to the gym in the afternoon. Now I will try to go right after work (around 6pm)

The plain kind, right? Not those instant packs w/ fruits/sugar?

Not trying to lose weight, trying to gain a bit actually.

Do you just boil them the night before and eat them in the morning?

DylloS 05-06-2011 03:20 PM

So do you not want to wake up another 20 minutes early to make some scrambled eggs/oats? That's my problem sometimes but I try to tell myself that extra 20 minutes isn't going to affect my day.

Yea man, I'm trying to get to bed earlier. I'm so tired/lazy when I wake up though. I just want to get some quick food and eat it in bed. I'll try the oats though.

this sounds gross, but i think it actually tastes ok. i used to scramble my eggs with raw oats. the oats dont really taste like anything, so it doesnt really detract from the eggs too much. i used to have to wake up at 6am because my commute to work was so bad, so i had to do what i had to do

Haha, wow, never heard of that. What do you mix in with the eggs? Just milk?
