M3 Buying Advice

I need the advice of my fellow E46ers. I have been rockin a 2002 325i sedan since 2006 and have always loved M3s more, just never got one. Having said that, a local dealership (non-bmw) is selling a Titanium Silver 2005 M3 with 50K miles. Please advise me on problems, if its a good price, and so on.

Here is the link to the car for viewing.

Thank you in advance.

manual non-leather; non-heated seats, common interior color (black).. way overpriced. but I don't know the market in honolulu, it could be different there. here on the east coast, I wouldn't pay more than 23k for that car.

It doesnt matter what it is over here, its all expensive (example: I pay $1550 a month for a 700 sq ft condo, just rent). I thought 30K was a bit much after seeing the ones on here go for less, thanks for the advice.

Yea that is overpriced for what it is... If it had leather, heated seats and navi with say 10k less miles than I'd say get it... It's deffinetly clean though... Don't fall for these stealership scams... I bet they paid 18k for the car.. If you like it lowball them like crazy... Don't pay more that 23-24k for that

Fern, I agree but am unsure how to negotiate a good deal out of that. If I lowball for $22K they are gonna look at me like im smokin crack.

Car looks silver grey instead of TiAg to me. Does it to anyone else?

crovax 05-09-2011 07:58 PM

omg lol drunk! didn't we have this trolling conversation in the M3 forum?

RidinBimmerz 05-09-2011 08:07 PM

23k car at best unless prices are THAT much higher in HI. Throw em a lowball, what's the worst that could happen.

Steven747 05-09-2011 08:11 PM

bring in a kbb just for a starter and im sure it shows 26 and then go to 23 and then end up at idk like 25.. thats 5k less than listed

It wouldnt surprise me if the market value for a 2005 M3 was higher here than anywhere else.

Even if ends at $25K is that a good price for a 2005 M3?

ImagClaw, it was directed towards drunk_bird. He has a habit of trolling these waters.... :) That car is pretty overpriced IMO.

Im hoping they take $24/25k.

M3s are great cars but you need to know the car's history before jumping in. Service records are critical and remember you are talking about a high performance sports car that if not properly maintained can cost you and arm and a leg in repairs. Find a reasonable price shipper and then look for one in Cali, etc. to bring over - you should be a able to buy a low mileage M3 vert for that kind of money. Just my two cents.

What about this one?

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/ctd/2375596545.html

It seems a bit high and not as "nice/clean" as the other one.

ImagClaw 05-13-2011 07:14 PM

Or this one...
