Trunk Release (kill switch)
Hey guys,
Still learning about my '06 M3 Cabrio and noticed that the pressure switch on the trunk does not work. On my roadster, there is a hidden "kill switch" to disable that pressure switch so that Joe Blow can't walk by and open your trunk. Does my M3 have that as well?

I believe when you lock the doors this disables the pressure switch on the trunk.

I think this is a not uncommon problem with our cars. Mine hasn't worked since I bought the car. I have the same issue with my X5. I just use the key remote to unlock.

The pressure switch works when the car is fully unlocked (both doors not just driver), AND the glovebox is also unlocked. Otherwise it is disabled.

One cause for the pressure switch not working properly is the infamous wire loom running from the trunk lid to the car body. The constant opening and closing actually folds the wires until they break. Check 'em out.
