Brand New 328 Ci owner...... Need support.
 

Hello,

I am new to the BMW scene. I just purchased a 2000 328ci. This is a beautiful car, for being my first BMW. It has over 141,000 miles on it. I was wondering if there are some things I should have checked on it before I try to open her up and let her have fun. The CEL comes on and the Oil light turns on for about 30 seconds when I turn her on. Can anyone give me some support to keep her running strong and not ****ing her up?

Just wondering, I like the woodgrain, Is that shifter knob OEM? And congrats and welcome. As for the lights coming on.... when the accessory is turned on and not the engine all of the lights come on, not sure if that's what you mean.

If you yellow oil light stays on for about 30 seconds. It is your oil level sensor. Its a real easy diy that you can do with your next oil change

the best thing to do to rid yourself of the light is to replace the oil level sensor. good luck and welcome to the forum!

The Shifter Knob is stock. I dont have much knowledge on the parts yet so I am not sure if it is OEM or not. And I will be getting the Oil Changed very soon so hopefully that gets everything fixed.
