Meh, tried HID in my fog lights. Every time I turned them ON my cluster/radio/interior lights would go ape sh!t. Took them off after a week because a fried LCM is the last thing I want.

Hmmmm, I've been running ddm 9006 HID's for 3 years with no problems.

How do I know whether to get the 35w or 55w?

Solidjake 03-06-2013 05:15 PM

You get 35 watt ONLY if you have projectors.

So what exactly do I get to convert my fogs? I'm kind of a newb and need all the help I can get, this is the best thread I've found so far

Also in for how to have HID fogs work with no light out on dash

Solidjake 03-12-2013 09:55 AM

You need PROJECTORs in your fog lights, a 35 watt kit and you MUST have a wire harness.

+1 wire harness. I took mine out though, stuck the good ol halogens back in.

Is it possible to be a sleazebag and have no projector in the fog light just an HID kit with the new bulb?

Of course its possible and why would one be a sleazebag? I have mine set up in the regular housing and have no problems with blinding oncoming traffic at all.

Yea, you THINK that but you actually are.

iWeldonJ 03-25-2013 03:24 AM

Can you use some super white non HID bulbs

Solidjake 03-25-2013 08:11 PM

Whiter bulbs will defeat the purpose of being "fog" lights

Here are some shots of my fogs, they are aimed low and do not blind oncoming traffic, here are some shots of the lights.

anyone have problems with them flickering/not coming on when you have HID in both head and fog lights

i have h7s and 9007s in mine and sometimes they will act retarted....or just not work at all, one headlight and one fog will come on....then they will all work and slowly flicker and then do out ???
do i need one of those harnesses for "anti flicker" or something?
