Anyone else enjoy long distance pistol shooting?

Some may not call it long distance but I love shooting my pistols at 50-100yds at man sized targets(nothing further around). I typically use subcompacts that keep it challenging.

Anyone else a little bored with shooting conventionally?

On a side note I am getting a little bored with shooting period.

I shoot USPSA and cast and reload my own ammo so I tend to shoot alot(sometimes 1-2k+ per month handgun rounds).

Too keep entertained I shoot run and guns, train dry at home, work up custom loads(like my 1600fps 124gr 9mm carbine load :)), and train.

Maybe I just need a break from shooting for a couple months.

Switch to a different platform. Get into precision tactical rifle or service rifle long range.
I do occasional practice at 50-100yds, but from supported improvised positions like off the hood of a car or while in a rolled-over fetal position on the ground. Not the easiest thing to do, but a good skill to learn.

I do tactical rifle/pistol/shotgun run and guns when I can but it doesn't happen often. I don't have a casual range nearby and cant do any woods shooting(no improvised shooting).

I don't have a range closeby over 100yds but I do precision benchrest shooting as well from .22 to .308. I even shot a couple bullseye competitions with .22 pistol/.22 rifle but found it boring as hell..

Hopefully within 5-6 years I will be able to buy a piece of property in the sticks and setup a range with a shooting house.

I just decided to stop shooting for awhile and see how long it takes until I feel the need.

Well there's your problem. If you were shooting out to 1000yds or more, you wouldn't be bored.
There's nothing anywhere?

Not without driving 2hrs or so and only 200yds

A 300yd sheriff range used to be open about an hour away but they closed it down to the public.

There's a range near me where they do competitive pistol shooting out to 200 yards.

See the weirdo shooting position they use - the guys lying down with the barrel braced against their leg:

Good looking range you got there brew. If it were here I probably wouldn't be bored with shooting.

I am going to take some time from shooting and try to be less fatness(cracks open michelob ultra ).

Make sure to tell him that from at least 300 yards away.
