Hello from Jersey!

Hey there everyone! Name's Jason. Been lurking around for quite some time now, and I'm finally in the market for my first M, and consequently my first BMW. :woot:

A little bit about myself;
I'm 19 years old and a resident of East Brunswick, NJ. I'm currently entering my sophomore year at Rutgers University (New Brunswick) where I'm studying Economics. I commute to school, as I live but 15 minutes away from campus. I love going to school at Rutgers, as I've had the opportunity to meet and befriend some amazing people. Even though there are quite a few downfalls with this State sponsored institution, for better or worse it's a part of my life that I'll never forget and always be thankful for. I'm an avid and amateur poker player (currently using this as my primary source of income and will probably be doing so throughout the rest of my time at school. Hoping to go semi-professional after graduating). I also enjoy amateur photography; my current setup is a Canon 7D /w 35mm F. I'm looking to buy a 10-22mm UWA and 70-200mm IS II F in the future, but currently my funds are being reserved for the acquisition of a new M! My aspirations are to join the Army after I graduate under an option 40 contract. I hope to one day be able to join Battalion, and my current 3-year short term goal is to prepare myself as best I can both mentally and physically.

I've been searching high and low in the Classified section here and on M3Forums, and thus far have found 2 suitable M's to my liking and within my price range. Unfortunately, 1 is located in California and that isn't very feasible for me at the moment, but I will hopefully be picking up another E46 for sale a bit closer to my location.

I just wanted to post an introduction thread and say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all those who paved the way with the DIY's and first hand information/findings regarding these vehicles; I cannot tell you how useful this forum and M3Forum was for doing my pre-ownership research and how much more inclined I was to set my heart on an E46 armed with the knowledge i've gained from browsing here. You guys have some awesome cars and a great community; I'm proud to hopefully be joining the ranks in the near future! =D

Oh, btw does anyone on these boards personally know the user "Toby330i"? I've been trying to contact him for a few days now in regards to purchasing his E46, but to no avail for some reason. He hasn't logged in since the 22nd of July and hasn't responded to the E-Mails/PM's I've sent him. I know Andrew from Big-A-Detailing does his detail work for him, and have asked Andrew to forward him my number (thanks so much btw!), but i'm not sure he was successful in doing so. Maybe he's busy with family stuff or on vacation, I just hope the car hasn't been sold already! If anyone does know a way to get in touch with him, please let me know as i'd very much like to pickup his M before it's gone [crosses fingers in hopes that this is not already the case :tsk:]!

Toby330i's car ended up being sold :cry:

Posted up an extensively detailed WTB thread, hopefully it leads to some real results; http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=860255

Welcome!!

It took me almost a year to find the perfect M. Happy Hunting!!

Thanks mate! I know it'll be well worth the wait; I keep thinking I'll be thanking myself once I do finally become the proud new owner of an E46 for holding out for that perfect car! It's not easy, that's for sure, heh.
