I just sold my E36 n bought a 2000 328i last week n already need to replace the front brake pads. I was hoping to find some info on all the tools I will need and a step by step guide on how to do it. Any tips or info is much appreciated. Thanks!

If you are looking for a guide for a brake job, you should probably have a mechanically inclined friend help you, at least for your first job.

Just replacing your pads? I guess the most important tool is a 7mm hex socket for your socket wrench to remove the caliper guide bolts. You also need a pry bar/screwdriver to compress the caliper's piston back into the bore. If you remove the caliper without compressing the piston first, you can always just use a C-clamp and the old inboard brake pad and compress it that way. Make sure to lube up the contact points (I use Sil-Glyde).
