puddle of water in my rear floor PLEASE HELP

Every time it rains a little hard, there is water leaking into my passenger rear floor...it's not just damp, but there is a good size PUDDLE. I changed the windshield cowl thinking it may be the problem, but nope, it' still leaking.

has anyone had this problem and found the leak or anyone have any idea where it might be coming from?

I attached a video of the water after i vacuumed it, it keeps coming..

thanks for the help

That is no good. I think you need to clean out all your drain holes. Get pipe cleaners from a crafts store (long ones) and go around and clean them. I am not sure where all of them are so pull out your Bentley manual if you have one and check all the locations. I have seen quite a few down under the boot lid.

Well..... from what I've read here, it could be the vapour barrier in the door.

I took out the seat and ripped off the carpet and tested the door w hose and water and there's no issues w the door. It's not leakIng from the door.. I also did the same on the drug pin/ little storage in the engine bay on the passenger side and that's good too.. So at this point, I have no idea where it's coming from..

you could check the drains in the storage area where the top is stored when it is down. a little bit of presured air down the drains, or something long and flexable down them. hope this helps:D

I have the same issue sometimes... mine comes between the top and front windshield in the corners, drips on the passenger seat and runs down through the base and backrest to the floor. It usually happens if my seals are completely clean and clear of dirt.

Clean out the drains in the top storage compartment for sure. I would also get water in my trunk. My house has 100' oak trees so I have to clear out the drains regularly. To fix the leaks around the windshield just shove some strip molding between the front of the convertible top and the rubber that meets up with the windshield frame. This makes it seal better and worked pretty well except for really hard rains. I also replaced all of the gaskets around the top compartment. The main one that the lid sits on and the one that seals the top compartment where it folds up were the ones that helped the most. Finally no more water in my trunk!!

Water in rear floor

I had the same problem, together with water leaking into the boot - result of blocked drains in the soft top compartment. I think that the water was filling up in the area of the blocked drains and then finding a way inside the car and ending up in the floor. Cleared the blocked drains and problem solved.

I managed to un-fix and raise the soft top mechanism on one side and cleared the drain (what genius at BMW decided to locate the drain there?!), then re-fixed and did the other side. I carefully marked the position of the roof mechanism so that it went back in the same place.

HI

I have had a similar issue with water in the floor plan underneath the passenger seat.

Like the gent above, I have cleaned my 2 drains in the compartment for the roof and thought it fixed the problem...

However the water is back again.

The next step is to dust all obvious place with chalk to see if I can locate it.

However, I did wonder if using the air con could be causing the issue and if there there is a drain to collect the excess water has somehow got blocked?

I would love to hear how you resolve this!!!

same thing happend in my car but the water then started leaking into my truck and eventually my convertible top hydraulic pump stopped working and i got one from a 05 330cic. My car is an 01 330cic but my mechanic said that the wiring for my car connects to 3 places but the motor for the 05 only has 2 connectors anyone knows what i can do or if there is anyway i can make it work?

Try vapour barrier in door not sealed, that was the problem with mine.
