how to revive microfiber?

my microfiber towels were accidentally put through the washer with some softener..they're pretty much water proof now... I tried washing them with some Chemical Guys Microfiber detergent stuff however it didn't seem to work..

is there any trick in getting back to their original conditions?

Try using an all purpose cleaner. Spray a mist over them and let it sit for a minute and scrub. Then wash with detergent and rinse. If that doesn't work, this will clean your microfibers.

Never wash with detergent. That is how you'll ruin them.

I always wash with just water and hang them dry

I don't understand how laundry detergent will ruin a microfiber. I bought a bunch of MFs from my local detail supply shop and that's what they recommend.

You will ruin the electrostatic charge

Detergent is fine....as long as it doesn't have softener. I've had good results with Woolite

use some vinegar on ur next wash during the rinse cycle

The two places i buy detailing products from, Pakshak.com and Autogeek.net, recommend using a detergent for cleaning your microfibers. Maybe they don't know any better?

If i want a electrostatic charge, i'd rub the microfiber cloth against my hair...
