You need Redline D4ATF. Can be bought online from performancelub.com (in Melbourne). Comes in quart (just under a litre) bottles.

Alright I guess the problem is solved now. I spoke with BMW who said they could import the 'original' ATF from germany for the $340. but they were able to get me 20L of ETL 7045E for $260. I opted for that instead :) Hope this helps someone in the future!

20L? That should keep you going for a while!:D

UPDATE: Did the atf swap today! I am so happy right now. Car changes gears like butter! used to have a slight jerk from 1 to 2 but thats gone now. reverse engages almost instantly as compared to before where there was a delay. Will run the car like this for the next couple of days ~50-60 kms then do another flush and fill for the atf.
So far only positive results, no issues as yet!

This is the ATF to use. Group V (POE) basestock, and a top additive package.

I want to do a thread revival on this! enoryt91, did you end up with problems with the transmission?

I'm thinking of doing mine as well but I've read stories on the forum that the transmission fails after a week of changing it.
