Z4 - Safety Features

Hey guys, just posting for my brother!
He's thinking about buying an 04 E85 Z4 Roadster...

Anybody want to enlighten us on these two?

Passenger Side Airbag... Is there actually one?
Has the car got RoPS?

Yeah that should do it.

Bump.

Bumper

So I got some info... The car doesn't need ROPS because of how tall the rear bars actually are... But what about the passenger side airbag? Where is it??

It's a 2004 model, it has to have a passenger side airbag...

Yes, it's got a passenger side airbag. In the US, there's a keyhole on the side of the dash to disable it when you've got a child safety seat installed, but I don't think it's included in RHD markets. Does he not have the indicator light on the console that says so? It's circular, like the sport button but on the other side.

And no, there's no pop-up rollover system. The rollbars in an E85 Z4 are capable of support twice the weight of the car.

Airbags, rollovers - is your brother inherently reckless? You seem to have some concerns... ;)

Yeah just checked, no disabler thingo.

Yeah I already figured :P

He's 21 and drives a BMW. Need I say more? Every young bimmer driver has a lead foot :P. I just don't want to eat dash if I'm in the passenger seat.

They have a passenger side airbag that is located just above where the glove compartment is. It's at about shin level and will come upwards upon impact.

Just don't have a roll over crash...those don't end too well

The disabler is only visible when you open the passenger side door.
