My M3 Progress Thread. Please give advice on what to add next!
I purchased a 2005 M3 in August 2011. The car had 54000 miles. I got very lucky. It does not eat any oil at all, and I already put almost 10000 miles on it. Deffinetly my dream car. But let me get to the point. I will put up some pics of how I bought it and all the small things I added to it. I would really appreciate if you guys can give some advice on what else I should put on it. I love tweaking and adding things to the car, and I know the smallest details makes the biggest difference.

So first thing i did when I got the car was get white reflectors. Later on changed them to Body Color.
About a month ago I put in Orion V2 Opaque Angel Eyes.
Last week got the tinted corner lights.
Changed all exterior bulbs to led.
Hid fog lights 6000k.
Today i bought the zhp weighted shift knob.
Blacked out the grille.
Wrapped my interior with carbon fiber 3m vinyl.

Next week got an appointment for tints, getting 20% all around.
Also looking into getting the dynavin navi, but it seems like they keep updating it and making it better with every month, so I am holding back on that.

Other than that I really do not know what else to add to the car. Please let me hear your opinions. I was thinking of getting carbon fiber splitters, and carbon fiber defuser, but I don't know how good it will match with a black car.
Thanks in advance, everyone always helps me out on this site in particular. I used to have a 323ci, and I definitely made the car look a lot better, because of everyone's opinions on what to add.

I can't say what you like and don't like. But as far as mods you can take a look at my M3 thread build.
I had an idea what I wanted from the get go so I did most of this in first 90 days. I was (for the most part) done in 10 months. I've had it now for a little over a year. It could give you an idea of what you like, and don't like. We all have different tastes so I'm not saying mine is what you should do at all. :hi:

First pic is the first day i saw the car and paid for it at the dealer.
Than i waxed it.
added a black grille and hid fogs.
Than the angel eyes.

More pics to follow. My computer is bugging out and not letting me upload a lot of the pics on to the website.

Alex the thread is cool, definitely some good ideas you got. The car looks awesome.

Just got tints on it yesterday. And some more pics of the angel eyes during the day. Car looks so much meaner with the tints.
Let me know what you guys think I should do next to the car.
Really started to think about getting the CSL trunk, Csl defuser.

Alex323Ci 03-11-2012 02:12 AM

It's Not called "Tints"...but "tint" or "tinted". You will have the Tint police on the forum after you if they see you call it "tints". :hi:

ecoce1 03-11-2012 12:16 PM

Haha. Sorry, wont ever make that mistake again. Alex where did you get your csl diffuser? How much was it?

Andy2108 03-11-2012 12:23 PM

Get a csl trunk first. Some wheels would look nice. Don't black wheels or dark ones, imo. "Murdered out" is pretty boring to me. :dunno:

Is he putting the film on the outside of the window?

ecoce1 03-11-2012 12:28 PM

Yea he put the film on the outside to measure it up and cut it, and than he installed it inside. Perfect cut everywhere like that.

Andy2108 03-11-2012 12:48 PM

Ah, right. I forgot about that step. whoops.

maurer 03-11-2012 01:17 PM

In my opinion wheels with a "hyper silver" finish looks great on a black car.

Solidjake 03-11-2012 01:45 PM

Yellow fog lights.

ecoce1 03-11-2012 02:24 PM

Yea wheels is a pretty good idea. Hyper silver is deffinetly my favorite color. I had hyper silver VB3 (csl replicas) on my 323ci. I am thinking of getting V710 for this car.
But I am leaning on getting nice summer tires first. Owner before me put the cheapest tires he can find and not the right size. He put 225/18/40 in front and its suppose to be 225/18/45. I mean I doubt it makes a huge difference, but I do not like the thread at all. I had Michelin on my 323ci, and it deffinetly felt a lot better on corners than the m3. So I am probably going to get the continental super sport all around, and than think about the rims.

Andy2108 03-11-2012 02:41 PM

If you decide that you want 19" wheels, then buy the wheels and tires together now.

ecoce1 03-11-2012 02:59 PM

Nah, 19" is too big for my taste. The ride becomes a lot more harsh, and in brooklyn, the rim is going to be cracked first month. Not a big fan of how they look on the car either. But to each his own.
