BMW F10 M5 takes on One Lap of America 2012
The all-new 560 horsepower 2013 M5 Sedan will participate in the grueling One Lap of America event starting May 4, 2012. Instructors from the BMW Performance Center, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, will drive the 3,300 mile tour that originates in South Bend, Indiana and incorporates highway, skid pad, drag strip, and closed course racing during the eight day event.
"The fifth generation M5 will compete for the new 'Showroom Stock' recognition within the Luxury Sedan class at One Lap of America, which serves as the perfect opportunity to demonstrate its performance capabilities as well as those of the BMW Performance Center instructors," said Dan Gubitosa, BMW Performance Center Manager. The new BMW M5 will arrive in authorized US BMW Centers in August of 2012. In addition, the BMW Performance Center will be providing the One Lap of America staff with official vehicles for 2012.

It is great to see BMW participating in this type of event. This is a grass roots event that should show off BMW's motorsport strengths. Who else thinks the M5 is going to dominate?
Finally saw one of these in real life in Hamburg yesterday.
Estoril blue on imola red. I know this sounds cliche but pics REALLY really don't do it justice.
It is unbelievably sexy and somehow looks smaller than it really is. I think the short overhangs have sonething to do wit it. Brakes are massive, it's just so awesome. Best looking M5 ever IMO.
