Windshield Wipers Clicking
After being on for a while my driver's side starts clicking when it hits the corner of the windshield. Does anybody know what is causing this? The blades are only a few months old and it doesn't rain very much where I livs. I really need some help.

Mine clicked too, i used wax on window and tried to use it less.

Its really annoying. I really want to know what causes it. Its the only real problem with the car. 110k and its tight as a drum, but that clicking can drive you man.

It could also be the wiper arm assembly near the motor clicking too, do you want to go there?

Is there any way its just something really simple that I am over looking?

mine did that too, then i bought new blade inserts and it went away. sounds like you should try that, inserts are only like $10 at the dealership and can be done in about 10 minutes.

Mine has always done that, I have no idea why, but it happened after I got a new windshield. I think my wiper arm home positions are not correct anymore, the driver's wiper arm definitely touches the passenger's wiper arm. I'm going to adjust them to the way they supposed to be (exactly how ElectricRed46's wiper arms are), and also get new pressure nuts.

Are you saying your blades actually hit the edges of our windshield?

ElectricRed46 03-23-2012 02:45 PM

even though you dont use your wipers often doesnt mean theyre going to last forever. not using them is actually bad bc all they do is sit there on the windshield baking. blades are just rubber, and having them sittin on the glass everyday they just get hard. switch them out and see where that leads you, and if need be adjust them like Zell said

I fixed it. I pulled the rubber strip a little bit tighter. It had slid out of its bracket a little bit. So they're nice and quiet now.
