Swirl flaps 2003 320d

Hi guys , anyone out there with info on swirl flaps . Can anyone help please .

I know on the newer M57 diesel US engine the flaps are all connected to the same rod that is moved by a single actuator. Yours is probably very similar. I would say remove the manifold and check the flaps for freedom
of movement, maybe the ports have some carbon build up hindering flap movement.

Many people remove those flaps, becaseu they;re prone to failure.

Removed swirl flaps today and replaced them with blanking covers as recommend by BMW technician , car is running a lot better and feels to have more torque , also replaced glow plugs and crank case breather , i'm really happy now
