Yellow light ...
Thank you very much for your anticipated help and invaluable input:thumbup:

Here's my problem (for starters). The Misses 2000 323 ci has the yellow convertible top light coming on before starting the car. From reading on this forum here, I believe that this means that the computer thinks that either the trunk is open or the top stow compartment is in the "up" position. Note that I said "the computer thinks ...", because the top is down and the trunk is closed. Now, the trunk does not open except when turning the key. Not via microswitch, not via the button near the driver's left leg, nor via the key remote. I thought that repairing the 13 wires going from the car's body to the trunk lid would help fix this issue, yet, it didn't make any difference.

So my questions are:
1. what voltage is supposed to be on which wire going to the trunk lock assembly during the opening sequence; and

2. where is the microswitch/sensor located that detects the top stow compartment's position (I have the pdf showing all components, but it does not show where the device is physically located in the car).

are you saying that she inserts key turns it to the 1st position so all the idiot lights come on incl the yellow roof light, air bag light etc then they go out??? or is the roof light staying on???

Page 20 of the 1st pdf in this thread:

..says that the sensor switch is in the right-side hinge of the compartment floor.

When the car is turned on, the yellow roof light stays illuminated for a few seconds. Cityjohn, thank you for the hint! I will investigate!
