Verizon's "Share Everything" Plan Goes Live June 28th

http://solutions.vzwshop.com/shareev...-SE-PLANRECMND

Highlights:

-No more unlimited data
-Shared plans can include up to 10 devices now
-Talk and Text are unlimited for everyone in the plan
-Share one pot of data for cheaper than individual plans would be.
-Mobile Hotspot is included for all devices on the plan.

From the VZ website:
Quote:

You're not required to move to Share Everything but if you do, unlimited data will not be retained on your line. As a Verizon Wireless customer you have choices when you upgrade at discounted pricing. You can choose from a standalone data package starting at $30 for 2GB or a Share Everything Plan. If keeping unlimited is important to you, you can choose to upgrade and pay full retail price for the phone.
This actually sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If you're not someone who uses large amounts of data, i'd definitely be looking forward to this.

doesn't seem like a "deal" at all.

priced out what I pay with at&t:

iphone - unlimited

iphone (2) - 2 gig

iphone (3) - 1 gig

all unlimted texting and more rollover min than I'll ever use.

i pay $170 a month. The never verizon plan at $170 would give 3 iphones 1 GB of data. no thanks verizon, nice gimmick, but no deal.

jeffro3000 06-12-2012 05:54 PM

AT&T? lol

I'd rather pay Verizon 4x more than go to AT&T

I just priced it out, what a whole ton of genius marketing... for virtually nothing, or less.

$80 monthly device charge for two iphones + 2 gigs of data @$60 = $140 before taxes/fee's im guessing, with the added worry of my fiance running pandora 247 or something and using up my share of the data.

All I need is a few hundred minutes, a thousand texts, and a gig of data. STILL can't find a way to get a modest plan at under $70 a month for an iphone... ANNOYED.

Go in with someone? That's what several people I know do rather than going it alone :dunno: Just like splitting rent

Included hot spot should be immensely useful for tablets. I'm glad that's becoming standard

i have an at&t iphone and a verizon iphone. I've traveled around most of the northeast (i know you're from AL, so this opinion is worthless haha) but at&t's speeds were on average much faster, while verizon had a wider "3g" coverage area.

although some areas in verizon's coverage in "3g" were only a tad faster than at&t's edge network.

i guess my point it, carrier preference is fairly geographical. until iphones are on LTE or true 4g, i prefer at&t.

When I'm traveling around Alabama or TN I have LTE coverage at least 50 percent of the time, more than just the cities listed on the vzw site. My gf has an ATT phone and it's either much slower or not working. It's terrible. And their LTE network is less than 1/10 the size, so even an LTE iphone on ATT won't mean much for a long time.

Gotta pay to play.

Precisely. I really can't complain too much about AT&T from a service standpoint. Was it slightly better when I had Verizon? Sometimes. Sometimes it was worse. Depending on location.

I think this deal sucks. WTF am I going to do with 1 GB of data? With all the video chatting and Netflix and everything? This blows.

Just a year ago for $30 you could get unlimited data. Now what?

MrWesson 06-12-2012 11:13 PM

Verizon rolls out 4g and then caps it at 1gb lol.. you could Max that out in like 10min n some places.

I will pay "full retail" if by full retail you mean used and refurbed phones for almost upgrade prices.. go f yourself Verizon.

DME46 06-12-2012 11:22 PM

Full retail? No more upgrades at 200-250 if I want to keep my grandfather'd unlimited data? I'll have to pay $600.00+ to keep it?

Is that correct?

data was $20 unlimited when iphone first came out. i remember apple was looking to get about 2-3% of the ENTIRE cell phone industry, they ended up with like 18% haha.

the thing that really demonstrates how far internet speed has come for me is downloading a CD. on dialup, it use to take about 25-35 min per song! now you can download an album on your phone in a minute or two. its really quite crazy.

anyway, verizon and at&t are just pushing out all users with unlimited data. The "throttles" will start lower and lower until they basically force you onto one of their plans.

Amoeba 06-12-2012 11:58 PM

My AT&T is still cheaper. $60 family plan + 2x $30 iphone data plans (3GB soft cap) = 120 for combined 6GB of data.

This would cost $40 extra on verizon, but you get unlimited minutes (which I don't use).

Haha! I remember that! I'd set an mp3 to download and walk away, check on it thirty minutes later out of sheer optimism.

Wow... that is some fuucking bullshiit. They are probably doing this to get the most money when new Droids/iPhone 5 are released. I might as well use my upgrade now because I sure as hell want my unlimited data.
