Price Opinion on Selling Supercharged M3

So I'm going to sell me 2003 E46 M3 Convertible. I purchased it 12 months ago, and since then I rebuilt it and also modded it. Last dyno was 482.34 RWHP 329.54 LB/TQ, however I haven't had a chance to dyno it since I corrected the newly added Meth Kit and my local dyno's pickup sensors need replaced. Should be making over 500rwhp. The car had 76,000 miles on it when I purchased it, and the previous owner had the entire SMG and Transmission replaced under warranty at 50,000 miles. It currently has 87,000 miles on it.
Here is the complete list of things done to the car. Everything except tranny replacement was done in the last 12 months...
MSRP on the parts alone is over 40,000 and shipping and labor to and in Hawaii is another 12-15K.

I'm deciding to sell as is or part out.
If I sell it as a complete car, do you think an starting asking price of 35K is too much or reasonable.

As tough as this will be for you to hear, the money that you have spent in modifications will not have a positive affect on the resale value. For a potential collector, modifications mean that the car is no longer original, and for the guy who wants it as a daily driver, mods are an indication that the car has been abused.

This is true, although there's less than 8,000 miles on the mods. I believe I will part it out.

Part it out. Every penny you've dropped on mods or repairs becomes worthless when selling it. A friend of mine had a heavily modded E46 M3 with 45k miles on it. He had it on the market for a year before parting out. Once he did that, the car sold fast.

Why are you selling? Sounds like you've got one hell of a sexy car!

It was an amazing car. One of the best I've ever owned. However, the NSX has always been one of my top 2 cars and I've been searching for the right one for over 10 years and I found the one. So I bought it, and am now parting out the M3. I have the Brembos, the Supersprint Headers, the Carbon Engine Strut left. I'll be posting them in the FS section.
Here's the NSX....

Stunning cars mate! Isnt the nsx a bit weedy after at 500bhp m3? I would imagine the handling to be epic though!

oxfordgreenM3 04-11-2013 08:45 PM

how much do you want for the headers?
